UPDATE: Bo has been put to pasture since Cypress ride. No bucking at Cypress at all. He did really well but did spook at cows so needs some cow work. He will need a refresher to get going again. Bridles, saddles, bathes, loads, follows without lead rope and just generally tries to be good. Just not super confident so needs regular work for a while. He’s good in an arena or on trail. Doesn’t get herd bound because once he trusts, he goes where you go with much happiness.
Show Experience: Boh participated in the CHARMD online horse show as well as a colt starting clinic in Melfort, Saskatchewan.
Boh is a 6 yr old registered Canadian Gelding. Boh is healthy with excellent coat, feet, and maintains his weight well without risk (so far) of metabolic issues on pasture, when he is working he leans out nicely. He is currently in his 3rd month of training at a facility in Saskatoon and previously as a 3 year old had a very light start with a professional trainer. He is currently showing promise as a jumping prospect, he looks forward to his lessons and is willingly forward to all work in front of him. He remains bright and eager through work and would best be suited to a regular work schedule. He bathes, trims, loads, tacks up well and easily caught. Boh had two seasons of mountain experience as a pack horse in Alberta. He will make an excellent partner to compete with as he is friendly and has a no quit attitude. He has very good ground manners and is not pushy or rude. While in the mountains he had shoes however regular riding he goes barefoot.
Because Boh is sensitive, he requires an experienced seat as he has bucked in the past. He has had use of body work and x-rays of his spine to ensure he is ready for work. He has had his teeth done regularly, up to date on vaccinations and de-worming. A PPE is most welcomed. He goes walk, trot, canter in and outside of the arena.
