Troy is a 2011 Bay Canadian Gelding. He is 15.1-15.2 hh and is very stocky and strong. He is an integral part of our family and is offered for sale only due to his allergies. Troy would benefit from someone who has indoor facilities and the ability to stall him during the prime bug season or live in an area where there are less bugs. We are unable to offer this lifestyle to him and regretfully are offering him for sale (price is reflective of his allergies). This horse has a lot to give. He is calm, steady, great on the trail, and is absolutely fun at liberty. He knows his person and will ask for special attention from them, seeking them in the field. In 2016 he pulled our forecart and snow blade, skidded logs from the bush and pulled chains to harrow our pasture. He hasn’t driven since 2016 but with an experienced trainer and a restart I am sure he would do really well. He goes through water, tolerates puddles, has moved cows and is our main reliable trail horse. He has a consistent nice walk, trot and canter, is responsive to aids and enjoys learning and executing his “job.” He has regular farrier work with excellent hooves (never had shoes) and has been updated with worming. He currently lives outside 24/7 is an easy keeper and is very durable in the Canadian winters. He has had inexperienced riders on him chaperoned for short periods of time and he treated them kindly. I don’t doubt that he will be an all-around family horse with consistent work. He is currently chubby and out of shape after being off for the winter, but would excel in western dressage, working equitation, being a trail, ranch or family horse.
