General Information: Epona is a classic Old Style Canadian Mare type build (built to last). She has always been sound and has enjoyed excellent health. We have given her full vaccinations, regular worming and hoof trimming.
Background History: Epona is a late bloomer because her early education was delayed in prior home.
Handling & Experience (ongoing): My trainer has introduced Epona to Natural Horsemanship training and Epona has taken to it beautifully. She loads and unloads like a pro, picks up all fours and very cooperative and sensitive to all cues asked of her. She is showing good ground manners. Once Epona joined up with her trainer (in this early stage of her education) she became a fabulous, devoted student and learns fast. There are zero treats involved in her training (only bum scratches which she enjoys immensely).
Temperament: Thoughtful, kind, playful, good mind with an adorable sparkle in her eye when engaging with her partner. She continues to impress us with her mature and willing attitude towards all of the new things she is learning.
Aptitudes: We think she has great potential for any number of disciplines (English or Western). In addition she could make an excellent driving horse, ranch horse, combined driving (like many Canadian Horses, she’s likely to be very versatile).
Bloodlines: Epona has some very interesting bloodlines. On her Sire’s side there are some of the oldest bloodlines; heavy Pitro, St. Anne de Becancour, a bit of Henryville. On her Dam’s sire there is Henryville, St. Anne de Becancour and a trace of Lou.
Epona is for sale but not on sale. Her below market price reflects our desire to find the best and most suitable match for this special mare. She has the potential to be an incredible partner. Epona is a quiet, affectionate and intelligent mare. We want to find a home that will continue with her Natural Horsemanship and build on her foundation.
Price: $4500 CAN. Located in Uxbridge, Ontario. When Epona came to us she was quite overweight, we are getting her leaner and in better shape.
