Jackson is a strong, confident, and beautifully built 5-year-old registered Canadian gelding standing 15.2hh.  Born and raised with us, he has been handled since day one and is very comfortable around people.  He loads himself, stands well for the farrier, and has big, solid black feet that make him a sure-footed partner in any terrain.

Professionally started at 3 (two months of training) and again at 4 (two additional months), Jackson has been in a consistent riding program this year.  He moves well off the leg and carries a solid walk, trot, and canter.  Out on the trails, he has a fast, ground-covering walk and smooth gaits.  He is not a slow or lazy horse—he has speed and enjoys using it.

Jackson has been exposed to a variety of disciplines. He has competed in four mounted archery competitions, played with barrel patterns, worked lightly with roping, and participated in Western events like gymkhanas.  His “happy place,” however, is out in the mountains on trail rides, where he is confident, forward, and reliable.

Temperament & Suitability:

Jackson is a confident horse who thrives with a strong, confident rider.  He is not for a beginner, but for someone with experience, he offers a willing and athletic partner. His one drawback is that he can be pushy on the ground and will sometimes test personal space.  With consistent handling and clear boundaries, this is very manageable.
