Our stallion Dandy is endowed with an exceptional conformation and a remarkable temperament. Although his presence and impressive musculature can make him appear intimidating, he is extremely sweet and affectionate! Dandy's biggest assets are that he passes on to his offspring his excellent temperament as well as his attractive physical attributes.

Easy to handle he is always well mannered with no vices. He had been trained under saddle approximately 5 years ago but did not work since. He stays in fields all year round with his broodmares and offspring and he participates actively in their education. Dandy has more than 160 foals to his credit.

Dandy is very respectful and gentle when covering a mare at the time of breeding. He is used to breeding them naturally in the fields, behaving as a real gentleman.  We hope to find Dandy a home where he will serve mares on a regular basis and where he can live outside in fields, just like he always did. He would be miserable staying inside.

The reason for his sale is that we are no longer breeding Canadians. Dandy is solid black, without any white markings. He weighs approximately 1300 pounds and stands 15.2hh. Farrier services and deworming are up to date.

Notre étalon Dandy est doté d'une conformation exceptionnelle et d'un tempérament remarquable. En effet, bien que sa prestance et sa musculature lui confèrent une allure impressionnante, il est particulièrement doux et affectueux. Les principales compétences de Dandy viennent du fait qu'il transmet à ses descendants le très bon tempérament qui le caractérise, ainsi que ses très beaux attributs physiques. Ces atouts lui viennent sans contredit de sa lignée, où Viger apparaît dans les trois générations le précédant.

Facile à manipuler, il n'est aucunement vicieux et n'a aucun tic. Il a été entraîné à la selle il y a environ 5 ans, mais n'a pas travaillé depuis. Il est au champs tout au long de l'année avec ses poulinières et rejetons et il participe d'ailleurs activement à leur éducation. Dandy a plus de 160 poulains à son actif.

Dandy est très respectueux et doux lors de l'accouplement. La saillie se fait naturellement au champ et il se comporte en véritable gentleman.  Nous recherchons pour lui un endroit où on lui permettra de servir les juments sur une base régulière et où il pourra vivre au champs comme il l'a toujours fait. Il serait malheureux d'être confiné à l'intérieur.

Dandy est très noir, sans aucune marque blanche. Il pèse environ 1300 livres et fait 15,2 mains. Les services de maréchal-ferrant et la prise de vermifuge sont à jour.

If you’re a breeder, you owe it to yourself to consider this proven stallion, as he carries such rare and valuable bloodlines, and he’s Mr. Personality Plus!

Due to owners’ time constraints and what is best for Bandit, he is being offered for sale to an approved home—one that would use him, drive him, and continue to offer shipped semen from him.

Bandit has been shown since he was 11 months old. He has been very well promoted (he is well known and liked). The time and money to properly market, manage and train a good breeding stallion is enormous… and all that has been done. All you have to do is announce that you’re the new owner.

He stands just over 15 hands tall, is deep bodied and short coupled, wide browed, and has excellent angles and great hocks. Bandit’s bloodlines are primarily Henryville, a line known for its docility. We believe he is the only stallion left from Remi and one of the very few proven stallions with that much Henryville in them. He has a willingness to please and an awesome temperament and work ethic. He is a multi-champion, winning several Futurities in both conformation and driving, J.A. Couture 2 yr old Stallion and Sire of Excellence in 2000 & 2001, and his foals have been out doing the same. He is often chosen for mares with longer heads as he shortens the length of head; and for high-spirited mares, as his temperament always comes through on the foals. His offspring are excelling at everything from jumping to combined driving and are located from coast to coast in Canada and the USA. During the J.A. Couture Contest in 1995, the CHBA chose the best horses in the breed and from those who entered the classification; Bandit was the second highest stallion in all of Quebec and Ontario. The trophies and ribbons this horse has won are impressive.

He has been trained to drive by Randy Bird of Harwood, Ontario, and was trained for collection on a phantom mare, hence has not done live cover for many years. His semen is of excellent quality, and motility post-collection is very impressive. One vet commented he could breed a fence post with the stuff and it would probably catch— this was three days after being collected!

Bandit personifies the Henryville temperament and is simply a great horse!

The approved purchaser would be invited to come to Cosyland for a few days to see how he is handled here, on the ground, for collection etc. If you’ve never owned a stallion, it would be a condition of sale that you come spend some time with Bandit. It is imperative that Bandit go to a good home—and the right home.

More Information about Bandit's Progeny: COSYLAND BANDIT KIWI #8402 Written By Brad Bardua Kiwi has been competing in show jumping and eventing with me over the last two years, (we purchased Kiwi in 2007) and competed successfully in dressage by my wife Lorraine (Training Level Champ at an EC sanctioned show). Kiwi's bravery took her to a fifth place finish in her first event in a class of twenty horses at the Avalon Horse Trials in Duncan BC, again in 2007. Show jumping is my chosen discipline and Kiwi took the 2008 Vancouver Island Hunter Jumper Assoc. Championship in our Low (3 foot) Jumper Division and was the Adult Amateur (3 foot jumper) Reserve Champion. We spent the winter training for 1m / 3'3" classes, and my coach tells me her potential is to go higher. Kiwi is a powerful chestnut mare with a substantial hind end. She has great enthusiasm for going over fences in the jumper ring while ridability is also good - we train and show in a snaffle bit. Kiwi makes an impression on most people who see her. It is not uncommon to be approached at the stalls or after a jumping round by folks enquiring about her breed or children who want to pet her and give her a treat. Show Experience:
•  MARK has been competing for the last 3 years in Combined Driving. He has first place ribbons to his credit at the Intermediate Level, and will be ready for advanced by the end of next season.
•  Mark has extensive ridden dressage training, and schools at 3rd level.
•  Mark has won 2nd place in open halter classes.
•  He was 4th place Pony of the Year for the whole US in 2005 with the American Warmblood Society.

SHELDON CREEK BANDIT MARKESE, or "Mark" is a "pony size" stallion. Mark is triple registered Cheval Canadien, Baroque Pony and American Warmblood Society Pony Stallion. He was AWS 2005 4th place Pony of the Year for the whole nation. Mark has impeccable stallion manners and can be handled by anyone. He has been professionally trained in dressage, schooling 3rd level. Currently Mark is competing at the Intermediate Level in Combined Driving, taking 2 blue ribbons in back to back competitions September 2009. Mark is currently in training with German Reitlehrer Robert Griswold and is in training full time is fully fit for advanced competition.

We now know that Mark can throw both tall and medium sized foals. His colt son out of a 16.3hh TB mare will reach 16.1hh or so and his filly daughter out of a 16.1hh mare will finish 15.2hh or so. If he is bred to a pony mare, you should get a pony. Both of his get inherited his very calm, sweet and compliant personality, they are both 3 years old now.

I have had some health set backs and do not want to pull Mark out of training. He is very close to qualifying for the "World's". My main reason for selling him is that I cannot take him the rest of the way in competition. Will entertain all serious offers.  Mark is located in Olympia, WA and is standing at stud until sold.
